Another great book from Lars Muller. A collections of Herbert Matter's photographies and posters. It's an unfortunate this book only published in German. The striking color and the size of the cover are very appealing. The combination between the images and typography are very sophisticated. The crop of the poster and photography tell us what is inside of this book. I do like the blue paper when I open the cover. Armin Hofmann designed the book mostly in 2 column grid and some thumbnails in the 4 column grid. The gutter of this book is quite wide (1cm) but it works well. Another example of his book, Graphic Design Manual: Principles and Practice, is wide gutter as well. This book tells how Herbert Matter got his inspiration. It's very surpassing how well Herbert Matter took the pictures. He taught himself how to take pictures. Even though the book is in German, this is a beautiful book to have.
