Last year, on March 20 2011, I did my first tribute to Emil Ruder. One of designers that I respect and influence me on my design. You may have seen there are so many changes to the first post. I was thinking to design a birthday card for the designer that I post but I only manage to design one. I do have also have a passion into grid systems and wanted to share to my viewer. Due to the consuming of the time I only manage to show some of them. Two of the books that I share with the grid are designed by Emil Ruder. It always nice to see the classic books, Typographie: A Manual of Design and Garten Menschen Spiele
Today would be my 150 posts. I want to say thank you to my visitors, I hope that many of our viewer inspired by the work that I posted. I hope also the great designers, photographers, architects wouldn't be forgotten. To remind us how great Emil Ruder is, I show some of his work and words.
There are two essential aspects to
the work of typographer:
he must take into account knowledge
already acquired and keep his mind
receptive to novelty.
There must be no letting up in the
determination to produce vital work
reflecting the spirit of the times;
Antidotes agains the tendency
to follow the line of least resistance.
