











Pino Tovaglia was born on December 3, 1923 in Milan. At the age of fourteen, he worked as a fabric designer. In 1944, he attended the Art School at the Sforza Castle in Mlan. He also worked for Nino Nutrizio doing layout design for the daily newspaper La Notte after school hours. After he graduated, he worked at Pagot fin. In 1947, he worked in the ciutti studio for three years before he decided to do freelance. In 1954, he worked as a teacher and lecturer at the Sforza Castle in Milan and ISIA in Urbino.
In 1957, Tovaglia established CNPT studio together with Giulio Confalonieri, Ilio NEgri and Michele Provinciali. It lasted for ten years. In1965, he joined the Exhibition Design research group, with Coppola, Confalonieri, Grignani and Munari. in 1967, he worked at Pirelli for three years and also designed corporate identities including Otagono magazine, Alfa Romeo, the Region of Lombardy (with Munari, Noorda and Sambonet), the Italian Environmenttal Foundation FAI, Alitalia, Acna and many more. He also worked in the cartoon animation for the Italian State Radio and Television Network RAI.
He passed away relatively young, at the age of 54, but he has created an enormous great of work. Salute to Pino Tovaglia.
