Roman Cieślewicz was born on January 13, 1930 in Poland. He graduated at Cracow Academy of Arts in 1955. He started his career by working at WAG agency. He also an Art Director of periodical Ty i Ja.
In 1963, he moved to Paris and worked for Vogue, Elle and created the graphic image of Opus International, Musique en jeu, kitch and Cnac-archives. He naturalized in 1971.He taught at Ecole national superieure des arts graphisques from 1972-75. in 1976, he created a graphic concept for Paris autumn festival and 1977 developed new visual formula for magazine 20e siecle and concept for panicky revue kamikaze.
Between 1955 and 1978, he had designed some 380 posters.
