The task of the graphic designer is therefore not merely to stick printed texts on a cardboard but to try various paths of individual experimentation - the "vital humus" from which he can drawn those elements that will make his message valid and lasting.
Franco Grignani was born on February 4, 1908 in Pieve Porto Morone, Italy. He studied architecture in Turin but he had always been devoted to experimentation in optical and visual phenomenas. He participated in the events of the second futurism and constructivism. He worked as an Art Director of Bellezza d'Italia. He became an art director for Pubblicita in Italia in1956. He was members of juries of "Typedomus20" and Warsaw Poster Biennale in 1970. He had more than 49 solo exhibition since 1958 in Italy, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, the US and Venezuela.
Based on theories of perception, particularly on the Psychology of Form and his knowledge of architecture, he created more than 14000 experimental works. His works are manipulative to the eye but still we are tend to stare to his work. Truly great designer.
