This is another great book from F.H.K Henrion. His task was to compile 18 "Top Graphic Design" around the world. One of the criteria, the designer had to work for 45 years in the field. He was narrowing down to the members of Alliance Graphique Internationale. There were only two designers, Otl Aicher and Graphus Team, who were not a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale. He tried to show less works that had already shown in books and magazine. With his own reasons, he featured: Olt Aicher, Jaxquelinse S. Casey, Roman Cieslewicz, Gert Dumar, Tom Eckersley, Alan Fletcher, Shigeo Fukuda, Grapus, Rudolph de Harak, Gunther Kiesser, Morteza Momayez, Bruno Monguzzi, Odermatt & Tissi, Rambow Lienemeyer van de Sand, Dan Reisinger, Jaxques Richez, Henryk Tomaszewski, and Wolfgang Weingart.
A very nice compilation of graphic designers with mainly three column grid. Most of the works are posters. It's very nice to see different style of posters from different countries. I do like the statement in the book " We all suffer from visual pollution today, as we are surrounded by visual noise in our bathroom and kitchen, in the street by the plethora of print, signs film and TV. To get the message across successfully and in an original manner is no mean challenge for the graphic designer who can make a positive contribution to the manmade environment. The illustrations in this book show that this can be done."
