In this volume 14, the topic is about David Burkler's Christmas tree decoration. Why Christmas tree decoration? Jost explained, "Because the way in which these fragile objects are shown at exhibitions has disappointed me, and so in particular have the publications on this subject which have appeared in recent years. I believe that the theme should be approached differently."
Today, June 27 is David Burkler’s birthday. It’s a lovely coincidence. Happy birthday, David! The cover of the booklet is black with the snowflakes printed in the dust cover. I should have asked why in this issue Jost had picked glossy paper instead, as this was the first time he ever used glossy paper for Typotron's series. I shall assume the main reason is because the topic is focusing on ornament and it does make sense to choose the glossy paper. The booklet is set in 11 pt Monotype Centaur (designed by Bruce Rogres) and Centaur Italic (designed by Federic Warde).
