








Erik Nitsche was born on July 7 1908 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He studied at the College Classique of Lausanne and went to Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich and later in Paris. He worked in Draeger Freres in Paris from 1929-32 then worked as a freelancer. In 1934, He came to New York and worked for Saks Fifth Avenue. He also supervised national advertising campaigns of Douglas Aircraft, Rolls Razor and others. From 1950 to 1954, he was commissioned successively by Moma New york, 20th Century Fox and Decca records. In 1955, he appointed as an Art Director of General Dynamics and design "Atoms for Peace" Campaign. He also designed corporate history of General Dynamics. In 1960 He started concentrated on book exclusively. He designed 12- volume history of science, 12-volume history of music, five volume work in French, L'Epopee d'un Siecle. and some children books .
