Lee Friedlander was born on July 14, 1934 in Aberdeen, WA. He first interested in photography in 1948 and he went to Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA in 1953. He moved to New York in 1956. He supported himself by taking pictures of jazz musician and producing record jackets. His inspiration came from Eugene Atget, Robert Frank and Walker Evans. In 1960,1961 and 1977 the Guggenheim Memorial Foundation awarded Friedlander a grant and his work began appear in such periodicals as Esquire, Art in America and Sport Illustrated. From the 60's he began taking photographs of the 'social landscape" with black and white film. I am really love with his self portrait where he blends himself with objects surround him.
