





Karl Dominic Geissbuhler was born on November 15, 1932 in Winterthur, Switzerland. Gessbuhler was trained as a graphic artist with Ernst Keller and Johannes Itten at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich and later at the Kunsthochschule in Berlin. He started work as an art director of an international active advertising agency. in 1963, he began work independently and designed more than 150 posters for British airways and Zurich Opera. In 1981 he created the stage design for the Zurich Opera House's production of the ballet 'Der Narziss' as part of the June Festival of Music and Theatre.
Geissbühler has received many awards including Medal from the Bennial in Lahti, Finland, Gold and silver medal at the Arts Director Club of New York, Bronze medal at the Poster Triennial in Toyama, Japan and special award for opera house posters in Chaumont, France.
