Romano Chicherio was born on 26 November, 1933 in Thun Switzerland. He studied architecture at Ecole technique superieure Lugano. He started his career as an architect. After he had been working for 5 years , he changed his career as an Art director in a studio where specialized in press publicity. In 1963, he founded his own studio in Lugano. He was specializing in poster design and won three first prizes at Toronto International Poster Competitions in 1967 and 1974, grand prix de la publicite and prizes in national contests in 1965, 1968, 1970 and 1973. He also awarded special prize at IX Espomanifestotur in Cantania.
