Rosmarie Tissie was born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland on February 13th 1937. She took one preliminary course at the Kunstgewerbeschule and then four years apprenticeship in Zurich .Tissi share a studio with Siegfried Odermatt since 1968. Tissi's worked have been exhibited worldwide along side with Odermatt's work including permanent collections of Museum of Modern Art, New York, Neue Sammung, Munchen, German Poster museum, Essen and Ginza Graphic Gallery, Tokyo and many more.
I encountered Tissi and Odermatt's work for the first time by looking the book of Siegfried Odermatt & Rosmarie Tissi: Graphic design at FIT's library. I was inspired with their creativity to create posters. The use of geometric shapes in the posters produce a great tension and balance. The choose of colors gives a sense of warmest into the posters. Even though there are many elements in the poster, the readily and legibility still maintained. I was trying to get the book in 2005 but the price was too expensive. Now the price has been multiples many times. I just wish to purchase the book since then.
