Franco bassi was born on February 19, 1920 in Milan Italy. He studied at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. He started working at Olivetti in 1949 and later became an Art Director at Ollivetti design and advertising studios. He also worked as an Art Director Weisscredit in Lugano, and Italconsult in Roma. His clients including: Edizioni di Communita, Elexta Editrice and Eurallumina. His works had been shown as a solo exhibition in 1946, 1948, and 1949. He had many award nationally and internationally including "Trofeo d'Oro" by newspaper II tempo, Il Giorno prizes at second exhibition at Art Director's Club, Milan and a gold medal at BIO 5 in Ljubljana for his Olivetti 600 campaign.
