























Alexandre Wollner was bon on September 16, 1929 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He studied at Instituto de Arte Contemporanea in Sao aulo from 1951 to 1953. He was invited by Max Bill to continue his study at the Hoschschule fur Gestaltung Ulm in Germany. Four years later after he graduated from Ulm; He established the first design studio in Brazil, Forminform, with Geraldo de Barros, Ruben Martin and Walter MAcedo in 1958.
A year later he established his own studio, Designo Ltda, in 1959. He helped to set up the first graphic and industrial design school, Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial in Rio de Janeio. The Ulm school might influence his simplicity of the form of the logo.
His new book just published Alex Wollner:Brasil Design Visual . It is presenting an extensive catalogue of the designer's oeuvre. This handsome book showcases more than 100 works by the artist and focuses on the strong influence of the Ulm School of Design where Wollner studied between 1954 and 1958.
